Welcome
to our Farm!
What's in a Name?

The herd name Jug Tavern was chosen because of the area in the early 1800s. Today, the town of Jug Tavern is now Winder, GA.

Rock-Point Farms was named simply for our location in Georgia. We are located in an area that has a lot of granite rock, hence Rock-Point Farms.

Our History

Thank you for your interest in breeding stock from Jug Tavern/Rock Point Farms. Since 1978 we have been raising Saanens in the rolling hills of Northeast Georgia. We started with grades and bred them to American status. Because our first animals were from anonymous backgrounds and did not look like Saanens, it has always been very important to breed our Saanens for excellent breed type. One gift that the original girls gave us was really beautiful General Appearance, which they have passed on in their progeny for 29 years.
This past year has been a massive peak in the continuing dream of our farm, with SGCH Rock-Point Holly Golightly 2*M taking the Reserve National Title. We have also been Best Senior Doe in Show at all but 2 shows this year with 4 different does having the honors. We are truly greatful for all that God has blessed us with.  Rolling Hills of North Georgia

 Herd Health

We work very hard to keep the herd as healthy as it has been. Of course, going to shows is the best way to pick up disease, but with good nutrition and a battery of vaccinations and a little elbow grease, we continue to enjoy a high degree of health in the herd. We test for CAE through Washington State at least 3 times a year and are very serious about a negative herd. We still dam raise a portion of the kid crop and bottle raise babies out of does that are sold. If you prefer a different management style for your kid, we can make arrangements.
 If you are interested...

We prefer that you come to the farm to pick up your kid because you get a more accurate picture of the animals and its relatives. If you cannot find a way to make it to the sunny south, we can offer you information by phone or via email.

We can ship out of Hartsfield-Jackson International Atlanta Airport at 6-8 weeks. The cost of the kid does not include shipping or health papers. These costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

We require a deposit on ordered kids with the full amount (including vet expenses and shipping costs) due before shipping. Receipts will be sent with the kid. If the kid you select is not born, we ask that you make a second selection, or we will refund your money.
